In theory the mentioned app "Delta" should be usable to to remote control the hotspot (in combination with Skizuku). I've tried it and I can toggle the hotspot through the Delta UI. But after enabling the Tasker integration in it, I cannot remote control it through a broadcast.

I haven't had time to look into this any earlier. Does this problem persist of more recent versions?

Starting with version 1.8.9 it will be possible to clone triggers and actions.

Currently there that is not possible directly. With a single rule you could only speak the phone number (so numerically).

If you can boil it down to a handful of specific contacts you could create one rule per contact, use that contact's number as a trigger and have the app speak the contact's name ...

The problem with that is that it makes it a lot harder to have something repeat in seconds. It depends on the perspective I guess.

As far as I understand it has nothing to do with permissions. The hotspot cannot be controlled officially anymore for a couple of years. The current implementation is a hack already and should generally work up until Android 15. From 16 onwards it doesn't work anymore.

Thanks for pointing out the issue with the number check. Should be fixed in upcoming v1.8.8.
